Spanish indie developer SandBloom Studio and HandyGames, the publisher behind Endling: Extinction is Forever, have announced the upcoming release of their cinematic voxel afterlife adventure game, DE-EXIT – Eternal Matters. The game is set to release on April 14th, 2023, on PC and consoles, inviting players to embark on an otherworldly journey and explore the enigmatic Plane of Memory.
In DE-EXIT – Eternal Matters, players assume the role of a recently deceased soul who must save the afterlife from imminent destruction. To achieve this, they must navigate puzzles, uncover hidden passages, and evade sinister enemies that lurk within the darkness of the Plane of Memory.
The game’s creative director initially conceived DE-EXIT – Eternal Matters as a solo project inspired by the personal loss of a close friend. The project has since grown with the expansion of SandBloom Studio to twelve members and its partnership with award-winning German publisher HandyGames. Drawing inspiration from various mythologies, religions, and cultures, SandBloom Studio aims to create an afterlife experience that is open to all.
DE-EXIT – Eternal Matters employs a cinematic storytelling approach to explore themes of life, death, and loss, offering players thought-provoking insights and perspectives. The game’s unique atmosphere is further enhanced by its simplistic yet distinctive voxel design, with atmospheric lighting adding depth to the realm of the afterlife.
Upon its release on April 14, DE-EXIT – Eternal Matters will be available for €19.99 EUR on Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store, as well as PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. To celebrate the launch, a 20% discount will be applied to the game’s price. Additionally, a special launch bundle on Steam will offer players the opportunity to purchase both DE-EXIT – Eternal Matters and SCARF at a reduced price.
