Scarlet Moon Records is thrilled to release the Horizon Vangaurd (Original Game Soundtrack) composed by chiptune extraordinaire coda. Horizon Vanguard is a fast-paced arcade-style VR shoot-’em-up that lets players ride a high-speed hoverbike while blasting through a variety of enemies and environments. The soundtrack is provided by coda, who’s best known for his work on VIDEOBALL, Omega Strike, and the upcoming Read Only Memories: Neurodiver, and features a blend or retro rock, electronica, and jazz fusion that will have shmup fans feeling right at home. Horizon Vanguard and it’s explosive soundtrack are now available.
“The bright stylized low-poly graphics of Horizon Vanguard brought me back to that ’32-bit generation’ of consoles, full of optimism and ambition,” comments coda. “I drew inspiration from some of my favorite composers, including Yousuke Yasui, Manabu Namiki, Shinji Hosoe, Jun Senoue, and T-Square and used authentic ’90s sample-based sound modules (Roland JV-2080, Korg M1) blended with my own broader palette of ’80s synth programming, chiptune elements and modern shine.”
