BLAST Premier Fall Qualifying Series Expands to New Regions

BLAST Premier has announced plans for an expanded Fall Qualifying Series that will be open to over 60 countries and offer a number of new regions a shot at featuring in the Fall Showdown (October 12th-17th).

The Fall Qualifiers will take place from July-September with teams from across five continents able to enter with the end goal of securing their place in the Fall Showdown and claiming $25,000 each in participation fees in the process.

64 teams will be directly involved in the finals of the BLAST Premier Qualifying Series across eight events. The qualifiers will be made up of direct invites and teams from open qualifiers that will be accessible to hundreds of teams in each region.

The BLAST Premier Fall Qualifiers will cover the following regions: Nordics, South America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, China, Iberia, North America, and the Middle East.

Andrew Haworth, Commissioner for BLAST Premier, said: “The Spring Qualifiers were a huge success and we are delighted to be able to build on that by expanding into new regions, offering more places in the Fall Showdown and investing $200,000 via participation fees into these teams’ long-term futures.

“We approached the 2021 season with the aim of creating more opportunity and investment into regions around the world – we feel we are on the right path to achieving that and look forward to seeing another set of qualifiers packed with big upsets and brilliant CS:GO.”

Every Fall Qualifier will consist of eight teams competing across three-day tournaments organized by regional partners. Qualification for the eight spots will be organized through these partners in the form of existing tournaments, local leagues, open qualifiers, and direct invites.

The winning team from each of these eight regional qualifying events will earn a spot in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown and a chance of claiming part of the $162,500 prize pool, with the ultimate aim of progressing to the Fall Final and World Final. In the Spring $175,000 was distributed by BLAST Premier to eventual qualifier winners: Endpoint, 9z, NASR Esports, SAW, Team Spirit, Extra Salt, and Dignitas.
