CLEAR THE DANCE FLOOR BOSTON FLOOR KIDS IS COMING TO PAX EAST AS PART OF THE INDIE MEGABOOTH
Floor Kids is heading to PAX East in Boston, new versions of the game for consoles and PC coming soon, a new mode for Nintendo Switch, and more news about Kid Koala’s soundtrack & and his 18 city tour!
MERJ Media, the studio behind the hit breakdancing game Floor Kids, announced today that it will be bringing it to PS4, Xbox One and Steam very soon. The game will also be playable at PAX East (April 5-8) in the Indie Megabooth. The creative duo, JonJon and Kid Koala, will be on-site at PAX East to show the new versions of the game at booth #16087.
If you missed its Nintendo Switch debut, Floor Kids is a breakdance battle game featuring unique trick style gameplay, rhythm challenges, and multiplayer sessions. Innovative controls allow you the freedom to play the way you like with a dynamic scoring system that rewards your moves based on musicality, originality, and style. Build up your crew of bboys and bgirls, unlocking new characters and locations as you cross the city, busting hundreds of different moves and countless combinations on your journey from the corner to the club.
Floor Kids is an original idea by Montreal-based animator bboy JonJon. The Floor Kids first appeared in a series of short animated films ten years ago, featuring original music by Kid Koala, which were shown online and were incorporated in numerous Kid Koala’s live concerts. In 2014, JonJon and Kid Koala joined together with Envision and Hololabs to create a video game based on the Floor Kids characters and universe.
On the Nintendo front, the Switch version of Floor Kids was recently updated to add the fan-requested Infinity Mode. This new mode allows players to safely practice new moves and combos with the ability to record videos and send them to their friends.
There’s also more news on the music side of Floor Kids. Visionary scratch DJ and producer, Kid Koala announced last month that the soundtrack of the game will be available on April 27th featuring 42 tracks and 71 minutes of original instrumental hip-hop and break music from the game. It is available for pre-order in digital and limited edition double-vinyl gatefold formats right now on Arts & Crafts.
Kid Koala will also hit the road across 18 cities in the US and Canada starting April 26th in support of the soundtrack with Vinyl Vaudeville: Floor Kids Edition, a special expanded version of his road-tested variety show, including a traveling arcade. Check out when he’ll be in your town.
