Xbox Partner Preview Showcases Enchanting New Action Game
During the recent Xbox Partner Preview, Capcom took the opportunity to showcase new gameplay footage of the much-anticipated Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess™. This upcoming title, rooted in a richly Japanese-inspired setting, invites players to embark on a single-player journey fraught with danger and mystique on the monster-infested Mt. Kafuku. The game is slated for release on Xbox Game Pass for both console and PC, as well as on Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam later this year.
Gameplay and Features
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess sets players in the role of Soh, a protagonist tasked with the monumental duty of rescuing villagers and collaborating with the Maiden of the mountain, Yoshiro, to cleanse their homeland from a pervasive corruption. The game is distinguished by its dynamic day-to-night cycle, each phase demanding a different approach from the player.
By day, players must engage in strategic planning, rescuing villagers, assigning them roles, and reinforcing defenses in anticipation of the night’s conflict. The approach of darkness heralds the arrival of the Seethe, monstrous entities that emerge to besiege the land. Combat takes center stage under the cloak of night, where players must protect Yoshiro, adapt to evolving combat scenarios, and leverage Soh’s graceful swordsmanship to prevail against the onslaught.

Capcom has promised further insights into Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess in their Capcom Highlights event scheduled for March 7th. This forthcoming presentation aims to delve deeper into the game’s fusion of strategic gameplay and action-packed combat, set against a backdrop of a struggle between the supernatural and humanity.
