To Celebrate the Launch of Pre-orders, KOEI TECMO Unleashes their Second Electrifying Trailer!
KOEI TECMO America, in collaboration with Omega Force, TYPE-MOON, and Aniplex Inc., has released an adrenaline-pumping second trailer for their upcoming action RPG, Fate/Samurai Remnant. The trailer introduces the new Servants who will join the Holy Grail War in Edo Period Japan, setting the stage for an intense battle. Fate/Samurai Remnant is currently in development for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC via Steam, and is scheduled for release in North America on September 29th, 2023.
A Legendary Battle Unfolds
Throughout the Fate franchise, masters and heroic spirits, known as servants, have engaged in the Holy Grail War, vying for an ancient artifact that grants wishes to the victorious pair. Fate/Samurai Remnant continues this epic saga, featuring the young samurai, Miyamoto Iori, and his loyal servant, Saber. As the “Waxing Moon Ritual” approaches, seven pairs of masters and servants prepare to clash in the shadows of Edo.
New Challengers Join the Fray
The chaos of the Waxing Moon Ritual intensifies with the addition of two powerful Servants, “Archer” and “Assassin,” from other participating teams. Archer, known for his loyalty and courage, skillfully wields his bow and arrow under the command of his Master, Zheng Chenggong. Meanwhile, Assassin, a phantom in gray with serpent-like limbs, can summon and manipulate serpents as his subordinates, making him a formidable opponent.
Unveiling the Rogue Servants
Fate/Samurai Remnant introduces Rogue Servants, highly potent warriors without Masters. Players who form bonds with these Rogue Servants can temporarily borrow their powers and even have some accompany them in battle. The game features a mix of familiar faces, like Rogue Lancer (Cú Chulainn) and Rogue Archer (Arjuna), as well as all-new additions to the Fate universe, such as Rogue Rider (Tamamo Aria) and Rogue Saber, who rides a gray horse and wields a mighty sword. Additionally, there’s Rogue Berserker, a long-haired fighter with overwhelming strength but no rationality, who accompanies Takao Dayu.
Spirit Font Conflict: A New Gameplay Element
Fate/Samurai Remnant introduces the “Spirit Font Conflict,” a unique gameplay element that involves competing for “spirit fonts” scattered throughout Edo. Players strategically move on a gridded map to acquire these fonts, which act as the enemy’s strongholds. Upon acquiring a spiritual font, a temporary boost in Iori’s abilities occurs as a path connects it to the player’s base. Bonded Rogue Servants can be utilized as a separate unit to aid in acquiring spirit fonts, though some Rogue Servants will only assist during the “Spirit Font Conflict.”
Empowering Iori: The Magecraft Workshop
Iori’s magecraft workshop in town plays a crucial role in enhancing his abilities. By learning new skills through the workshop, Iori gains an advantage in the Waxing Moon Ritual. Strengthening the workshop unlocks benefits such as having Rogue Servants accompany him in battle. Additionally, players can participate in a sword maintenance minigame, which grants bonus effects in battle to those who properly care for their swords.
Pre-order Bonuses and Editions
Fate/Samurai Remnant offers both Standard and Digital Deluxe editions, available for pre-order. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, a digital artbook and soundtrack, the Fate/Samurai Remnant Season Pass with three DLC sets, and the Season Pass Bonus: Hallowed Relic Sword Mountings.
Fans who pre-order the game digitally or at select retail stores by September 28th, 2023, will receive Miyamoto Musashi’s special costume, “Phantasmal Dress.”
Additionally, the special TREASURE BOX version of Fate/Samurai Remnant can be pre-ordered exclusively through the NISA store. This edition features stunning materials like an art book, a B2-sized cloth poster, original soundtrack CD, Command Spell stickers, bonus costume DLC, the Official Short Story Translation book, and a collectible box.
