I have recently dove into the PTR3 Tribute In For Honor and here are my thoughts about it. The Tribute battle as a whole is, not surprisingly, flat out amazing. Now I’m not fanboying this. I went in with my Designers mind set, top down bottom up approach, and I just couldn’t find anything I didn’t like. The amount of work done with the battle itself is quite amazing.

Mechanics, and objective are solid and fluid. All the characters I tried in battle were well balanced and worked well in the setting. I’m a Dominion player. I usually play lots of Dominion for the XP and I love team Objective based PVP. Tribute as it stands would absolutely be a staple in my Battle ground rotation. Graphics in this battle as well as the game are visual eye candy. Aesthetics take me to a location set in the past for a battle of sword, shield, and a one trip ticket to Valhalla.

The brutal, fast paced action of the battle, gaining Tribute for the buffs, and chasing down the enemy player with the tribute is not only satisfying, it leaves you wanting more, and more, and more… Before you know it your will have queued for 20 battles and you still just don’t want to stop.

The controls themselves are novice enough to learn quickly, while they have a depth to them seemingly more advanced as you get into the game and characters you are playing level up. You’ll start to find more and more things you can do, block, parry, or combo the more you play. Seems the designers set the layer on layer of combos and moves to accommodate your strategy as a player. Creating a dynamic in the more intimate you get with each character you play, the more sweet moves you’re going to find you can pull off in any given situation.

If I close my eyes, I feel like I’m on a battlefield. My 7.1 RIG 515HD Lava loves For Honor’s sound setup. The clashing of swords, thunderous shield blows, and the pitter patter of ninja’s in the rafters all can be heard in crisp clear quality.

In Conclusion : Shut up and take my money! lol Sorry… In all seriousness, in conclusion: If you have tried For Honor, like For Honor, or even tried it and put it down for a while… you WILL be back for this battle. It’s an amazing experience. It not only integrates well with the rest of the game, but it brings a whole new dynamic of a fast paced ”Capture the Flag” type BG you’re going to want to queue for again, and again.
