On April 4th, 2023, Survios, a leading virtual reality studio, and MGM Interactive Inc., a subsidiary of Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios Inc., announced the release of Creed: Rise to Glory – Championship Edition for PlayStation VR2 (PS VR2) and Meta Quest 2. The remastered game, inspired by the blockbuster film Creed III, brings players back to the ring with new content, characters, and upgrades.
Creed: Rise to Glory – Championship Edition is now available on the PlayStation Store, priced at $39.99 for the Standard Edition and $49.99 for the digital Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes 22 additional “Glow” costumes. Existing digital owners of the original PS VR game can upgrade to the PS VR2 version for $19.99 (Standard Edition) or $29.99 (Deluxe Edition). Meta Quest 2 owners will receive Championship Edition as a free content upgrade.
In the game, players step into the shoes of Adonis Creed, son of heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, training under the legendary Rocky Balboa. The aim is to rise through the ranks and prove their worth as a champion by facing iconic franchise characters across various arenas.
Creed: Rise to Glory – Championship Edition takes advantage of the power of PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PlayStation VR2 to offer a variety of technical, performance, and quality-of-life upgrades over the original game, providing an immersive and challenging boxing experience.
New game content includes the Legacy story arc inspired by the Creed III film (eight new chapters), three new arenas, and a roster of eight additional fighters. Endurance Mode, previously exclusive to Meta Quest 2, makes its debut on PS VR2, allowing players to fight without virtual stamina systems and face increasingly difficult opponents. Both PS VR2 and Meta Quest 2 versions of the game will also feature a new Fitness Mode to track calories burned and match sessions to help players reach personal health and fitness goals.
