Dearest Comrades. Today, Kim Jong-un, Supreme Leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has decreed the global release of twin-stick shooter Dear Leader on the App Store and Google Play. Created by independent developer Uglysoft, the game reveals the incredible tale of how the blessed Leader marshalled the forces of the DPRK to repel the demonic forces of The Rapture and save the earth from certain destruction in 2011.

Dear Leader begins with demons pouring onto the streets of Pyongyang. Within hours, the city is in ruin. Players are tasked with assembling an army to defeat the demonic threat and send them screaming back to hell. Players face off against the evil hordes by playing as one of 14 characters including the spirit of North Korea’s founding President Kim Il-sung, nuclear-infused super soldiers, deadly ninjas and a Shapeshifting President Obama. Each character has their set of uniquely upgradeable weapons and armour sets including lasers, rifles, rocket launchers, bombs and Kim Jong-un’s mighty Hammer and Sickle.

Players then complete their loadout by selecting from over 20 spells that are unique to each character. These include Kim Jong-un’s Nuclear Attack – turning him into a soaring phoenix and Kim Jong-il’s ability to spawn a giant, Godzilla-like creature, capable of destroying everything in its path.

Dear Leader’s incredible story takes place over 30 unique levels, set in different locations from across North Korea and beyond, including the real-world locations of Pyongyang and Mount Paektu to the fantasy, ancient lands of Llamatropolis – home of mythical laser-shooting llamas with trees on their backs.

As well as tasking the player with vital missions such as rescuing school kids, collecting uranium and destroying demon portals, Dear Leader adds a further layer of strategy with its Construction Mode. In Construction Mode, players must help to rebuild the great North Korean nation with 20 unique building types. Each building grants various in-game benefits, including a public eatery to heal wounded soldiers between missions, a cashless casino and a base for the ultimate transportation – the Korean Impregnable Malevolent Crisis Handling Interceptor – otherwise known as the K.I.M.C.H.I.

With a strong focus on its unique and untold story, Dear Leader features a variety of original comic book-style cutscenes that tell the unique tale of the greatest event the world has never heard of… until now. There are also plans to introduce even more in-game future events after launch for an even more extensive Dear Leader experience. These include new characters, enemy types, storylines and missions.
