Indie developer Senmu Studio has announced that its fast-paced, deck-building strategy roguelike game, ‘Three Kingdom: The Journey,’ will be leaving Early Access on April 18th. The game will be available for purchase on Steam for $12.99.
Set during the Han Dynasty, ‘Three Kingdom: The Journey’ is a strategy card game that combines deck-building and path-building roguelike elements. As the leader of the Han Dynasty army, players must face the armed uprising by the Yellow Turbans and navigate a map filled with friends and foes. The game’s dynamic environment tests players’ tactical thinking and adaptability, requiring them to collect new cards, customize their armies, conquer territories, and defend their positions.
The game offers three factions for players to choose from, each with its own strengths, weaknesses, and strategic possibilities. Players can build an army comprising various unit types such as infantry, cavalry, and ranged units. As they gain experience and money through battles, players can level up their resources and adapt their strategy to succeed against a diverse range of enemies.
Each playthrough of ‘Three Kingdom: The Journey’ offers unique experiences, as players must carefully forge their own paths through different cities and territories. The choices they make have pros and cons, and random events, as well as nine different types of territories, ensure that every playthrough is unique. The game features fast-paced PvE card battles against regular armies, leading up to challenging boss battles that will test players’ strategic decisions.
