Destiny 2’s Guardian Games event begins today, pitting Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans against each other in a friendly competition that spans three weeks, ending on May 23rd with the conclusion of the Season of Defiance. The free in-game event invites players to represent their favorite class and engage in various activities across the game, all while earning Medallions and vying for the title of the top Guardian class.
During the Guardian Games, players can look forward to a class-based version of the popular PvP mode, Supremacy, offering an even more intense experience in the Crucible. Participants also have the opportunity to earn two Guardian Games weapons, the Taraxippos Legendary Strand Scout Rifle and the updated Void Submachine Gun, The Title, which now includes the sought-after perk, Repulsor Brace.
In addition to the in-game activities, players can access the Guardian Games Event Card, which offers challenges that unlock cosmetic rewards such as a new Exotic emote, the Champ title, and extra Triumphs. For 1,000 Silver, the Event Card can be upgraded to provide instant and additional earnable rewards.
This year’s Guardian Games Cup encourages players worldwide to form a fireteam and compete for both Technical and Charitable categories, tracking the total number of medals dunked and the amount raised through the team’s official Bungie Foundation sign-up page, respectively. Top teams in each category will be awarded with prizes, including custom art, Guardian Games Pendants, Apricot Dawn emblems, and Bungie Store discount codes.
Partnering with the Bungie Foundation, the funds raised during the Guardian Games Cup will be equally distributed between Direct Relief and the International Rescue Committee, supporting a global impact. Participants donating $25 or more will receive the Quantum Relay emblem as a token of appreciation.
As Destiny 2’s Guardian Games Event kicks off today, players can expect a thrilling combination of friendly competition, unique in-game challenges, and the opportunity to support worthwhile causes. Don’t miss out on this chance to showcase your Guardian prowess and make a difference in the world.
