Dig or Die is a unique action/strategy sandbox game that launched on Steam Early Access in March 2015. The new version (v0.3) adds coop multiplayer to the game, and a lot of improvements to the gameplay, the interface graphics, and the balance. This major update of Dig or Die will be released on June 22.
Nicolas Gadenne, the founder of Gaddy Games said “Dig or Die lets the player build massive and useful defenses by day, and live some desperate defense situations by night like in Starship Troopers or Aliens movies.”
This update also grants a full graphic overhaul of the interface, and adds a lot of improvements like the parameters customization system. The players can now tweak their game to modify the precipitation rate, the monsters strength, the scarcity of minerals, and change the rules for every new game.
Dig or Die was inspired by games like Terraria and Starbound but with a very unique look onto the sandbox game genre. It adds more action, an amazing simulated environment, a rich defence building system, and a sci-fi universe with a real objective for the player.
“I created Dig or Die with this major orientation on defense building, experimentation, and water physics because I wanted to create a real “sandbox” game in which you can play with the world itself. When you build a sand-castle or dams at the beach… all the pleasure comes from building something, see it destroyed by the water, and then rebuild it again stronger, trying different solutions. That is the feeling I wanted to add into this game.” confessed Nicolas.
The game price will increase at each major update during the Steam Early Access. It started at £1.99 on v0.1 when it launched in 2015. With the v0.3 multiplayer update, the price will be at £6.59, and will be raised to £8.99€ for the final content release later this year. Every addition to the game is a bonus for early adopters!
