Square Enix has announced the release of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Previously, the series was only available on Steam and mobile platforms. The Pixel Remaster Series includes the first six Final Fantasy games, featuring the original charm and magic of these classic RPGs, while incorporating quality-of-life improvements and remaining faithful to the retro design.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series for PS4 and Nintendo Switch offers unique features for console players. One such feature allows players to switch between the rearranged and original soundtracks, giving them the option to experience the game’s music as they prefer. The game also provides a choice of in-game fonts, with a pixel-based font available as an alternative to the default font.
Additional boost features have been added for the console versions, including the ability to disable random encounters and adjust experience gained multipliers from 0 to 4. These features enable players to customize their gameplay experience further, catering to different playstyles and preferences.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series titles can be purchased individually or as part of the Final Fantasy I-VI Bundle from the PlayStation Store or the Nintendo eShop. Players who purchase individual games before May 25, 2023, will receive either two themed wallpapers on the Nintendo Switch or a theme and avatar on PS4, depending on the game(s) purchased. Those who purchase the complete series in the Final Fantasy I-VI Bundle by May 25, 2023, will receive all 12 themed wallpapers on the Nintendo Switch or a total of 6 themes and 6 avatars on the PS4.
In addition to the console release, the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series is also available for purchase as part of the Final Fantasy I-VI Bundle on Steam, the App Store, Google Play, and the Amazon App Store.
