Indie studio Sassybot releases narrative game about overcoming the loss of a loved one
Dutch indie developer Sassybot has launched its narrative video game Fragments of Him on PlayStation 4 for €9.99 / $9.99 / £7.99.
Fragments of Him is a drama dealing with real emotions that all of us will have to face someday. It is a journey about losing a loved one, filled with both tears and happiness, and ultimately has a heartwarming message: cherish those you love and the time you have with them.
Fragments of Him was previously released on PC (Steam) and Xbox One in May 2016, attracting critical acclaim, and has now found its way to the PlayStation 4.
“It has been a long time in the making, but we are excited that we can finally bring an optimized Fragments of Him to the PlayStation 4,” said Elwin Verploegen, co-founder of Sassybot. “It has been amazing to see the reaction of gamers whenever we showed Fragments of Him, many of whom were deeply moved, and we are happy that now our PlayStation audience can also experience this game.”
Fragments of Him is a story-driven experience, created by Sassybot in collaboration with narrative designer Mata Haggis, and with a play-time of approximately 2.5 hours. Players travel alongside four characters, learning about their lives through their regrets and treasured moments. They will see the final morning of Will and gain insight into his last thoughts before an accident cuts his life short, and also join his loved ones Mary (his grandmother), Sarah (his former partner), and Harry (his current partner) as they come to terms with their loss. The player moves through the world in the first-person, but directs the story from outside of the protagonists, creating a unique ‘second-person’ feel to the experience.
