Since its launch in March, Outerdawn has been tirelessly enhancing the goblin tribe simulator, Goblins of Elderstone. The latest addition, the “Scenarios” update, transforms the game dynamics. It introduces four distinct pre-set game modes, each with unique rules and limitations, offering a more streamlined setup and varied challenges for players.
Diverse Challenges and New Objectives
Players can now dive into varied gaming experiences with each new game in Goblins of Elderstone. The Scenarios update brings different objectives, environments, and situations, ensuring a unique feel in each playthrough. Gustav, the Creative Director, expresses excitement for this update, highlighting its alignment with community requests for focused, goal-oriented gameplay.
Simplified Game Setup with Scenarios Option
The initial game setup now includes four options: Pantheon, Story, Random, and Scenarios. The Scenarios option presents players with unique challenges and predetermined win conditions, simplifying the game entry process. Players can select a Scenario and instantly immerse themselves in the game, each with preset game conditions like Alignment, Path, Magic, Enemy, and specific challenges.
Scenario Details and Achievements
The Scenarios update introduces:
- Gob the Builder: An easy builder-friendly scenario with half building costs and a goal of reaching 10,000 gold.
- No Diplomacy Allowed: A survival challenge up to Year 100 with constant Warband Invasions and minimal diplomacy effects.
- The Last Ice Age: A survival test through 7-year long winters, aiming to reach Year 50.
- Eternal Night: A hardcore challenge with perpetual night and annual undead attacks, testing survival for 30 years. Each Scenario comes with achievements and allows continued play after meeting win conditions.
