Launching on Switch: GYLT’s New Horizons
Tequila Works, the renowned studio behind hits like RiME and Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story, is expanding the reach of its horror adventure game, GYLT. Originally launched on platforms including Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, GYLT is now slated for a digital release on the Nintendo Switch™ come March 14, with a physical edition set to follow in Q2 2024 courtesy of Tesura Games.
The Story Unfolds
In GYLT, players step into the shoes of Sally, an 11-year-old girl thrust into an eerie quest. Sally’s younger cousin, Emily, has vanished, and with the search abandoned by others, it falls to her to unravel the mystery. Sally’s journey leads her through a twisted version of her own city, now filled with lurking dangers and unspeakable horrors. Yet, despite the odds stacked against her, Sally’s resolve hints at the potential for heroism beyond her years.
Game Mechanics and Atmosphere
GYLT offers a unique blend of horror, fantasy, and reality, set against a backdrop of a melancholic and surreal world where nightmares manifest into reality. Players can choose to stealthily evade the nightmarish creatures that roam the environment or face them head-on, navigating through a narrative that challenges them to confront their deepest fears. The game’s accessible yet profound approach to horror, combined with its compelling story and intricate action and stealth mechanics, makes it a standout title for both genre enthusiasts and newcomers.
