HYTE Y40 ATX Mid Tower Case Review

Summary
We have here in our hands today their S-Tier Aesthetic Mid Tower ATX Y40 Case. It features a Multi-Dimensional Design, Ginormous Vertical Graphics Support, Luxury PCIE 4.0 Riser Cable and 2x 120mm fans pre-installed priced at $149.99. Once you get it out of the package the first thing I noticed is how clean and flush the 2 piece panoramic glass fits around the case. At first sight, you might question if it's meant to come off or not but it detaches easily using a magnet system. I think in most cases for builders this would be love at first sight once the Y40 is pulled out of the box. In the Y40 box, you will find one Luxury PCIE 4.0 Riser Cable which allows you to mount your card vertically. Expect to find all your basic USB, USB-C, and audio ports on the front panel near the bottom of the case. Yeah, this case is super dope… What makes the HYTE Y40 slap even harder? It only cost $149.99!

I think in most cases for builders this would be love at first sight once the Y40 is pulled out of the box. The reps must have done their research and read some of my reviews knowing to send us the black version. I am absolutely in love with the black smokey glass, it’s so clean. HYTE has designed this case to be a righty at the time of this review there is no option to rotate the side the glass is on. In order to get the maximum viewing experience from the Y40 it will need to be in front of you within 90 degrees to the right. It’s not a huge deal but definitely something you need to know if you’re building a battle station from the ground up.

Once you get it out of the package the first thing I noticed is how clean and flush the 2 piece panoramic glass fits around the case. At first sight, you might question if it’s meant to come off or not but it detaches easily using a toolless ball and socket mount system. It seems to be the theme of HYTE’s design with both top and side panels also able to snap on and off easily remaining screwless. The back and top panels are designed with airflow vents backed by a black mesh screen to catch dust. You will find ventilation on the bottom panel as well backed by 2 removable black mesh screen dust collectors. Finally, an intake fan below the power supply shroud to keep this case cool as a cucumber.

Graphics cards are getting massive by the day and I am speaking specifically about the infamous RTX 4090. It’s literally a hand cannon! In the Y40 box, you will find one Luxury PCIE 4.0 Riser Cable which allows you to mount your card vertically. What I like most about this system is the design of the back panel. It features 4 vertical slots for GPUs, which is plenty of space to drop in an Nvidia RTX 4090 but you also have 7 horizontal slots that rest behind the GPU for extras like capture cards. It’s a very efficient system for cable management. Space is a little tight but we are talking mid tower size here.

Expect to find all your basic USB, USB-C, and audio ports on the front panel near the bottom of the case. Y40 also comes with 2x 120mm fans pre-installed, one beneath the floor and one at the rear. The side mount supports up to a 280mm radiator with up to a 120mm combined thickness which is compatible with large 60mm+ radiators or custom loop configurations. Its top mount can support up to a 360mm radiator for dual radiator builds.

Yeah, this case is super dope… What makes the HYTE Y40 slap even harder? It only cost $149.99! Even for beginners, it is very easy to use and the results are going to speak for themselves once your build is done. You will be one of those people who drops their setup on Instagram and gets all the likes. All the numbers work for me here looking at it as a whole the price, design, looks, and ease of use make sense. I would take a hard look at this case before you begin your next build.
