Coffee Stain Publishing and Iron Gate have announced that Valheim, the acclaimed viking survival game currently in Early Access, will be available on Mac through the Mac App Store starting June 10. Soon, players worldwide can explore the legendary 10th viking realm on their Macs, following its previous Xbox launch in 2023.
Game Overview
Valheim offers a brutal exploration and survival experience for 1-10 players in a procedurally-generated purgatory inspired by viking culture. Developed by the Swedish indie studio Iron Gate and published by Coffee Stain Publishing, the game has received a stellar 94% Very Positive rating on Steam, with over 385,000 positive reviews and widespread critical acclaim since its Early Access debut.
Major Updates
Since its explosive 2021 Early Access launch, Valheim has introduced several major updates. The Hearth and Home content drop expanded multiple game aspects, while the Mistlands update introduced a new biome shrouded in fog and a magic system. Most recently, the Ashlands update brought a fiery new biome, redefining the game’s difficulty as it approaches the 1.0 release, which will include the final endgame destination, the Deep North.

Availability
Valheim is currently available on PC, Linux, and Xbox through Steam Early Access, Microsoft Store, and Game Pass, with the Mac version arriving soon via the Mac App Store.
