We’re glad to announce the new story trailer of Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD. The game will launch in Steam in early 2019.
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD is an indie videogame that brings together mechanics from Action RPG and RTS games. It’s the first work by Loftur Studio, betting on a transmedia universe for their debut, since the universe of Kofi will be told not only via the videogame, but also through an animated series that can already be watched in Newgrounds and Youtube.
The videogame introduces a world of comic fantasy in which the characters are aware of being part of a videogame. Kofi is an RPG character that spends his days lazying around without leveling up. His game is a total mess and every character around him plays better.
“When creating Kofi’s world, the biggest influences were the universes of Zelda and Warcraft. These influences are even more tangible in Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD”, claim some sources at Loftur Studio.
You’ll be able to control your own army by using common mechanics of RTS games, but it will all be a part of a narrative adventure in which you’ll have the freedom to explore the map, and find valuable treasure and weird characters with odd stories to tell. Furthermore, the characters will be voiced by the same team that brings them to life in the animated webseries.
This project started back in 2015 and, after a few years of work, it’s finally in its stage of completion.
From here to launch, Loftur Studio is looking forward to offering new animated content of Kofi to invite the players to get to know his universe.
