LIONSGATE AND APPS MINISTRY RELEASE NEW TOURNAMENT MODE FOR THE REAL-TIME MULTIPLAYER GAME DEPLOY AND DESTROY ON iOS AND ANDROID

Global content leader Lionsgate and independent developer and publisher Apps Ministry have released a major Deploy and Destroy update to enable tournament play, powered by Amazon GameOn, a cross-platform, competitive gaming service. Deploy and Destroy is a real‐time multiplayer game featuring some of the world’s biggest action franchises, including Ash vs Evil Dead and The Divergent Series. The game’s new competitive mode levels the playing field for everyone by disabling auto-aim and bots while making weapons available from the get-go to characters eligible for each tournament.

Deploy and Destroy is a competitive action spectacle at heart, and the feedback from our most passionate players helped create specific features that encourage and reward competition at its finest,” said Peter Levin, President of Interactive Ventures, Games & Digital Strategy at Lionsgate.

“This huge push to support and promote the very best competitive play is one we share with our community, and it’s just the beginning of what players can expect for the future of Deploy and Destroy,” said Apps Ministry Founder Vadim Shilov. “Moving ahead, we’ll continue to offer new experiences, rewards and IPs to keep fans engaged with fresh content and gameplay.”

Tournaments will run for a limited time in Deploy and Destroy, and players can compete in as many matches as they like during the time allotted. Points accumulate across all matches played within a given tournament, with special in-game rewards going to top finishers on the leaderboards. Tournaments currently support Deathmatch for up to eight players, though Team Deathmatch tournaments and other evolutions based on community feedback are planned down the road. Deploy and Destroy’s debut tournament will focus specifically around the Ash vs Evil Dead IP.

Amazon GameOn, which powers Deploy and Destroy’s competitive mode, is a cross-platform, competitive gaming service that allows developers to easily integrate competitions natively into their games on mobile, PC and console through a set of flexible APIs. With GameOn, developers can drive engagement, increase monetization, and bring more players in on the action.

Beyond Deploy and Destroy, Lionsgate’s strides into competitive gaming and esports are highlighted by its investment in the professional esports organization Immortals, which owns and operates the newly crowned Stage 4 champions of The Overwatch League™, the Los Angeles Valiant. Immortals also recently acquired the Counter-Strike team Made in Brazil alongside a series of new partnerships with Razer, PepsiCo, K-Swiss, Betway and Tinder, as well as their first-ever motion picture jersey sponsorship for Lionsgate’s Uncle Drew feature film. In addition, Lionsgate is a partner on the mobile hit Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, the free-to-play, real-time multiplayer fighting game from developer nWay, which has been downloaded over 36 million times and was just showcased as part of Amazon’s Mobile Masters tournament series.

Deploy and Destroy is free to download now on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
