New Features and Level Cap Rise
It’s round two for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III‘s Open Multiplayer beta, now available across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. Early access has been granted to those who pre-ordered the game. Players can now experience a raised Level Cap of 30, granting greater access to a wider range of weapons and equipment.
Map Updates
Two maps are in the spotlight for this weekend: Highrise and the new Orlov Military Base specifically designed for Ground War.
Mode Additions
In terms of gameplay modes, the beta introduces “Cutthroat” and brings back the fan-favorite “Search & Destroy.”
Gameplay and UI Tweaks
Enemy Operators now feature red nameplates for better visibility. The slide to sprint delay has been decreased by 200ms, offering more responsive movement.
Weapon Balancing
Several weapon classes see their Tac-Stance spread reduced while sliding:
- Assault Rifles: 17-26%
- Submachine Guns: 14-17%
- Light Machine Guns: 30-45%
- Marksman Rifles: 29-31%
- Pistols: 10-20%
The Striker Submachine Gun has also undergone several changes aimed at balancing its damage output and making it more in line with Assault Rifles.
Killstreaks and Modes
The Guardian-SC killstreak has its health and lifetime reduced. In Ground War, player-driven vehicles are now unlimited in terms of fuel.
Stability Fixes
This update also includes numerous stability fixes, such as addressing crashes that occurred during matchmaking in the Ground War playlist and while launching the game.
Community Feedback
Players are encouraged to clip unfavorable spawns and share them for further investigation. The game’s Trello Board is now live for the community to track issue statuses.
