Own the Night in Battlefield 1 Prise de Tahure & Premium Trials: Play coming July 20

Own the night and fight your way through the dark maze of narrow alley ways, buildings and fire in Prise de Tahure! Prise de Tahure, the second additional map from Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass, is a map set in the hours just before dawn in a small countryside town that serves as the arena in the fight over the Champagne-Ardennes region. Players will fight as the French or German army in high intensity, close combat battles over the control of the Tahure region. Prise de Tahure will be available for all Battlefield 1 Premium Pass and Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass owners on July 20th. Players can also take advantage of Premium Friends which (when active) which lets you play the map if you squad up with a Premium Pass owner.

Also available between July 20 and July 27 is the very first Premium Trials event for Battlefield 1, allowing all Battlefield 1 owners to play all currently available Battlefield 1 Premium Pass maps for free. This includes all content from Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass including six unique maps, the all new Frontlines game mode, new Operations and more.

What is Prise de Tahure?

Prise de Tahure is the second night map for Battlefield 1 and builds upon the theme of the Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Passexpansion pack, focused on the French army and the Western Front. Gameplay-wise, it is one of the smaller and more close-combat focused maps in the game.

Where and when is the map set?

Prise de Tahure is set in the hours just before dawn in a small countryside town that serves as the arena in the fight over the Champagne-Ardennes region. We wanted to make a map that shared some aspects with Amiens but on a smaller scale, and in a more organic way. We really tried to capture the feeling of it having grown block-by-block over time that is prominent in older cities (Old Town in Stockholm is a good example of the feeling we wanted to achieve).

How can I play the map?

If you’re an owner of a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass and/or Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass, you have access to Prise de Tahure. You can also take advantage of Premium Friends, which (when active) lets you play the map if you squad up with a Premium Pass owner.

What armies are available?

On Prise de Tahure, you play as the French and the German forces fighting over control of the Tahure region in the region of Champagne-Ardennes.

What game modes can I play on Prise de Tahure?

You can play every game mode of Battlefield 1 except for Operations. Some of the DICE developers’ personal favourites are Conquest, Rush, and Frontlines. Fighting over the plaza in frontlines, or attacking the two telegraphs in the final sector is a lot of fun.

What weapons and vehicles are available on Prise de Tahure?

All weapons from Battlefield 1 and the They Shall Not Pass expansion pack are available on Prise de Tahure. In the game modes that support them, all vehicles except the behemoths are supported.

There is one tank slot available per team, plenty of armored cars and jeeps and horses. Nothing Is quite as intense as running down a small alley in an enemy-controlled area of the map, and suddenly hear the sound of hooves on cobblestones.

How does the urban setting affect the gameplay?

The narrow sprawling alleys and the high buildings allow the relatively small city streets to swallow a lot of players in a small space, so the intensity is kept very high. Escaping a firefight is just rounding a corner, although the same applies for running into one. Prise de Tahure is an organic maze of buildings, rubble, and fire.

Why is Prise de Tahure so fun to play?

A lot of the fun comes from the intensity and all the interesting ways you can move around the city. There are alleys and buildings (pristine and on fire) that you can take advantage of to get a great vantage point on enemies who are hiding. Vehicles have a strong outer path that allows them to contest most of the flags easily, but due to the narrowness of the streets, the drivers should always stay on their toes – an ambush might be around every corner. For infantry players, this means that engaging tanks and the like is more of an active choice.

Active between July 20 and July 27, this event will let Battlefield 1 owners play all currently available Battlefield 1 Premium Pass maps for free. Kicking off when the new map Prise de Tahure arrives, Premium Trials is a great way for non-Battlefield 1Premium Pass owners to sample all the great new content we’ve recently released.

This is similar to Premium Friends – but Premium Trials doesn’t require you to squad up with a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass owner.

Premium Trials is the perfect opportunity for those who haven’t yet experienced the Western Front, the French Army, and other maps in the Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass expansion pack. With its 6 unique maps, the Frontlines game mode, new Operations, and more, one thing is true: there is a ton of content to play around with as you and your squad strive for victory.

With Premium Trials, you’ll also get to own the night in the first two Battlefield 1 night maps: Nivelle Nights and Prise de Tahure. Building upon They Shall Not Pass, the night time setting of these maps will challenge you even further. Keep your eyes peeled as you fight with your squad among the cold trenches of Nivelle Nights and the alleys of the more urban Prise de Tahure.

Note that only owners of a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass or Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass will earn XP from the expansion’s maps. XP is saved for everyone else and will be granted retroactively if a player later decides to get a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass. Also, only owners of a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass or the specific expansion pack can spawn in with weapons and vehicles unique to the expansion. The same goes for tracking progress towards the expansion’s unique medals and codexes.

Enjoy this first Premium Trials event and all the Battlefield 1 content. Before Gamescom, there will be another Premium Trials event after this first one. In September, another Premium Trials event will be held, meaning all players will have the opportunity to play on previously released expansion pack maps.
