Railroads Online, developed by Stefan Kelnberger and published by astragon Entertainment, has launched its Winter Update today, introducing a range of new features designed to enhance the gaming experience. This update brings a new map, an additional industry chain, and a fresh locomotive to the game, expanding the possibilities for players to explore and develop their virtual rail networks.
Exploring the Aurora Falls
The Winter Update unveils a new sandbox map named Aurora Falls, a visually striking winter landscape. This map features snow-covered mountains, vast blue mountain lakes, and dense coniferous forests, offering a new backdrop for rail network construction. A notable aspect of Aurora Falls is the appearance of aurora lights, adding a mesmerizing visual element to the game’s environment.
New Industry Chain and Locomotives
This update introduces gold as a novel raw material, adding a new dimension to the game’s economic system. Players can now engage in the gold extraction process, utilizing mines and dredges to obtain gold ore. This ore is processed into refined gold at stamp mills, leading to the production of gold ingots at the gold smelter. These ingots can then be sold for profit at the new Railway Express Agency. Accommodating this new industry chain, the update includes three new wagons specifically designed for transporting gold.
In addition to the new industry chain, the update adds a new locomotive to the game’s roster: the D&RG Class125. This locomotive is tailored to support the expanded gameplay options and the transportation needs of the new gold industry chain.
