Strictly Limited Games, in collaboration with Mebius and Starfish, has revealed the pre-order availability of exclusive and highly limited boxed editions of Steel Empire Chronicles. This exciting collection includes various Steel Empire releases and the addition of OVER HORIZON. The game is set to launch in Spring 2023, with pre-orders for the exclusive Limited Edition starting on Sunday, April 9th.
These limited editions will be available exclusively at Strictly Limited Games and will be the only physical versions of the game.
In Steel Empire Chronicles, players will face the Motorhead Empire, which dominates most of the world with its iron grip. However, the Republic of Silverhead remains a bastion of freedom. Players will assume the role of a lone pilot tasked with saving the day and restoring peace and harmony to the world.
The game’s story is presented in the style of an old sepia-toned film newsreel, complete with fictional historical references to set the atmosphere. Strictly Limited Games will enhance the narrative through the presentation of the physical releases.
Over Horizon, released in 1991 for the Famicom/NES, is a shoot ’em up game created by the same developers as Steel Empire. Previously only available in Japan and Germany, players can now enjoy this hidden gem of gaming history, featuring an atmospheric and colorful presentation.

The Limited Editions for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation® 4 (PS4) will be limited to 3,000 individually numbered copies for Nintendo Switch and 1,300 for PS4, priced at €39.99 / $39.99. Customers can choose between two cover variations, featuring either the Steel Empire Chronicles title sheet or the classic Over Horizon title sheet.
The Special Limited Edition will be limited to 2,000 individually numbered copies for Nintendo Switch and 700 for PS4, priced at €59.99 / $59.99. This unique collector’s edition box, shaped like a Mega Drive case, includes several collector’s items such as the soundtrack of all games in the collection.
