Debut of A.K.I. in Street Fighter 6
Besides the TMNT announcement, Evo attendees were treated to the introduction of A.K.I., set to be the 20th playable character in Street Fighter 6. Players glimpsed A.K.I.’s inaugural in-game cinematic footage from the single-player World Tour mode. A.K.I. is expected to be launched in Fall 2023, with more details to follow.
Previous Collaborations and TMNT’s Current Endeavors
The TMNT collaboration with Street Fighter 6 is the game’s second branded partnership since its launch in June 2023, following an earlier collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger. This latest partnership offers players a medium to express their TMNT fandom creatively, while also embellishing the in-game social center, Battle Hub, with TMNT-centric decorations.
Additionally, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are presently headlining their recent film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, now showing in cinemas.
As the most recent installment in the long-standing Street Fighter series, Street Fighter 6 showcases the franchise’s progression with a fresh single-player World Tour mode, a community-centric Battle Hub mode, and the inclusion of core gameplay via Fighting Ground. As of now, the game has reported over 2 million unit sales globally. It is available in Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions on platforms like PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
