Frank and Drake, an intriguing rotoscoped narrative adventure developed by Appnormals and published by Chorus Worldwide, is set to be released on Thursday, July 20th. The game will initially be available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, with versions for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One coming soon.

Unveiling a Strange Tale in a Fictional City

Frank and Drake is the latest creation from the acclaimed developers of STAY and the console publishers of A Space for the Unbound and Coffee Talk. Set in the fictional mid-Atlantic city of Oriole City, this captivating game invites players to explore a branching narrative involving the eponymous and unlikely roommates. The game features over 8,000 meticulously hand-drawn frames of traditional 2D art overlaid on filmed footage, creating a unique and visually stunning experience.

An Unusual Pair of Protagonists

Frank, still recovering from a bout of amnesia that occurred a year ago, spends his days as the superintendent of a run-down apartment block while taking care of his loyal companion, Underdog, a one-eyed dog who gets around in a wheelchair. Drake, on the other hand, leads a nocturnal life due to his solar allergy and works as a bartender. After his shifts, he visits his deceased mother’s gravesite under the moonlight, where he has strange visions of unhoused people protecting him from a mysterious figure.

The Unraveling of a Puzzling Conspiracy

The already unusual lives of Frank and Drake take a dramatic turn when they become entangled in a peculiar conspiracy filled with enigmatic riddles. In Frank and Drake, players assume the roles of both characters, controlling Frank during the day and Drake during the night. The duo communicates by leaving sticky notes for each other in their shared apartment, working together asynchronously to solve the mystery behind Frank’s lost memories, Drake’s visions, and the hidden mastermind pulling the strings.

A Deep and Engaging Narrative Experience

Embark on a journey through the secrets of Oriole City as you navigate a branching narrative spanning seven in-game days. Each decision you make guides the story down unique paths, offering multiple endings that shed light on the true reality of Frank and Drake’s intertwined circumstances. Along the way, you’ll encounter puzzles to solve and mini-games to complete, adding depth and variety to the gameplay.

Praise for Frank and Drake

“Frank and Drake really isn’t like anything I’ve ever seen before, from its visual style to the way the story unfolds. It’s the kind of game that, if it resonates with you, you’ll absolutely love,” said Shintaro Kanaoya, founder and CEO of Chorus Worldwide. “And of course, everyone’s going to adore Underdog. He’s a good dog.”
