Paradox Interactive has launched Galactic Paragons, the latest expansion for their sci-fi strategy game Stellaris. The game allows players to customize and fine-tune their empire’s leaders to make the most of their unique characteristics, and strengthen their empire as a result. The expansion is available now via online stores at a suggested retail price of $14.99/£12.79/€14.99.

One of the main features of Galactic Paragons is the expansion of Stellaris’ Council mechanic. It introduces leaders who bring specialized abilities to your empire, allowing players to gain control over how they invest in and strengthen their leaders to guide their empire and influence the galaxy’s future. With dozens of unique council roles based on civics and government types, players can unlock additional positions as their empire evolves.

In addition to the unique council roles, Galactic Paragons offers a range of other features to enhance gameplay. Players can recruit, improve, and follow the leaders of their empire through the ages, shaping them by picking their traits and selecting their veteran class. Players can attract paragons of renown to their council, unique leaders with their own art, events, and stories that bring their own benefits to the government. The game also offers new traditions, civics, and more, with new ships, art, and story content.

Galactic Paragons is not the only addition to Stellaris that Paradox Interactive has made. Alongside the expansion, two multiplayer game modes are now available in open beta: Cooperative PvE and Competitive PvP. Cooperative PvE allows players to join together to take on enemies as a single empire. This more relaxed gaming environment is conducive to teaching others how to play the game or dividing responsibilities of empire management. Cooperative PvP allows groups of players to join opposing empires and fight against each other. This division of duties may be less overwhelming and reduce barriers to entry for non-competitive players.

Players can now unite under one empire with up to five players in cooperative multiplayer mode, offering a whole new level of gameplay. The multiplayer game modes provide players with the opportunity to compete against each other in a more relaxed or more competitive environment.

All Stellaris players will also receive the free 3.8 ‘Gemini’ update from the Stellaris custodians team. This update includes a tremendous number of quality-of-life updates, making the game more accessible to a wider audience.
