Independent German developer Bitfall Studios, in partnership with German publisher Toplitz Productions, has announced the release of their card-based city builder and puzzle game, TerraScape, on PC for Steam Early Access and GOG.com. The game offers challenges, single-player, and multiplayer modes for a diverse playing experience.
TerraScape takes a relaxed approach to its puzzle formula, allowing players to create vast towns and cities using a unique card-based system to score points. With a random selection of cards to draw from and procedural maps and challenges, players must strategize as they expand their sprawling city creations.
In TerraScape, building cards provide various structures and expansion options for cities, with point-scoring opportunities depending on the initial placement of buildings within the game map. Players can develop their villages into self-sustaining towns and cities by adding crops and establishing industries like forestry, mines, and fisheries. Placing cards wisely in the game world earns points, and players receive new cards as rewards to further expand their cities.
City planners must consider the building order and placement of their hexes to score essential points, as each building has different influences on other buildings, nearby natural resources, or terrain.
TerraScape is available now on Steam Early Access and GOG.com, with a 25% launch week discount.
