The Delicious Last Course for Cuphead was released on June 30, 2022, on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. The DLC adds another island with several bosses to the game, a playable character called Ms. Chalice with unique abilities and many additional skills and weapons.
The Delicious Last Course averaged a Metacritic score of 88 out of 100 from 36 reviewers. This is quite a good score, which only the best games like Zodiac Casino Canada receive. According to the plot of the DLC, Cuphead and Mugman should help Ms. Chalice regain her corporeal form. To do this, the heroes will have to meet Chef Saltbaker and deal with the enemies on the new island.
New Features
From the preview of The Delicious Last Course, which appeared in early June, it became clear that the duration of the DLC will be 4-5 hours. It’s unclear though how many bosses will be in the expansion. Studio MDHR previously explained that it took them over four years to complete the DLC, as the team didn’t want to sacrifice their mental health for a quick release. They also revealed that certain individual boss phases in the expansion contained more hand-drawn footage than entire battles from the original game.
The Delicious Last Course will be the only expansion for Cuphead. MDHR said they will continue to work on their next game, details of which are not yet available. The add-on adds another zone to Cuphead, divided into several different biomes. To get into it, you need to talk to the ferryman, who will deliver the characters by boat. According to studio representatives, the zone in the DLC is larger than the locations from the original game.
The developers promised that by moving around the map, it would be possible to discover many secrets and additional tests. The DLC does not include run-and-gun levels, in which players must run forward through the level while shooting or avoiding monsters that appear.
A new playable character of the game, Ms. Chalice, has a double jump, a dash with a parry, and a roll, during which the heroine is invulnerable, as well as an additional health point. To choose her, you must use the Astral Cookie modifier, which takes up one amulet slot. In addition, she cannot use some power-ups available to Cuphead and Mugman.
