Torchlight: Infinite has announced its global launch date, set for May 9th at 1 AM BST, following the success of its open beta phase. The action RPG, which features loot-hauling and dungeon-crawling gameplay, will be available worldwide as a free-to-play title on both PC and mobile platforms. Hunters will have the convenience of syncing their progress across devices, enabling a seamless gaming experience.

The global launch will coincide with a new season, titled “Cube of Rapacity,” which promises fresh content and gameplay features, as well as significant changes to the game’s loot and crafting systems. This new season offers an ideal entry point for newcomers and encourages seasoned Hunters to explore the game’s updates since its open beta.

One of the highlights of the new season is the introduction of a brand new hero, Escapist Bing. This explosive character brings chaos to Torchlight Infinite’s roster with a dazzling array of bombs. Additionally, Thea players will have access to the new Hero Trait, Divine Realm, which provides further customization options for the Oracle character.

The “Cube of Rapacity” mechanic, from which the season derives its name, adds an element of risk and reward to the game’s dungeon exploration. Mysterious cubes can be found by defeating Desire Incarnations, offering players a chance to obtain Divinity Slates. These rare artifacts can be assembled like puzzle pieces to earn rewards, but players should beware: the Cube of Rapacity may penalize overly ambitious Hunters.

Developer XD Games has paid close attention to community feedback since the open beta, leading to numerous improvements and new features in Torchlight: Infinite. Some of the most significant changes include:

  1. Crafting overhaul: A major revamp allows Hunters to begin crafting gear earlier and upgrade more frequently with the new Prototype Production and Targeted Processing systems.
  2. New “Guild” feature: Hunters can now create and join guilds, fostering communication and collaboration, as well as earning rewards from guild events.
  3. Hero builds simplified: A rookie build recommendation feature will assist new Hunters in learning the game’s mechanics and assembling powerful hero builds more efficiently.
  4. Higher damage limit: A change to the underlying calculations permits single-hit damage to exceed 2.1 billion.
  5. Pactspirit improvements: Players can save their favorite Pactspirit configurations and switch between them more easily.
  6. Bragging rights: Players can now view their performance statistics and share battle reports with others after completing a stage.
  7. Void Rifts: These new map features offer challenging battles and rewarding prizes.
  8. New Trade House functionality: Advanced search now supports searching for repeated affixes, and search conditions will persist after leaving the Trade House.
  9. Steam Early Access transition: On May 9th, Torchlight: Infinite will move from Steam Early Access to the global launch version, with further optimization for Steam Deck.

Torchlight: Infinite’s global launch marks a significant milestone for the action RPG series, with ongoing content and feature updates planned to continue the game’s evolution.
