The much-anticipated update for the popular free-to-play shooter game, Apex Legends, is nearing its launch. Tagged “Apex Legends: Resurrection”, the update comes from the combined efforts of Electronic Arts (EA) and Respawn Entertainment. Building excitement for its August 8th release, the creators recently unveiled a gripping gameplay trailer, delivering a glimpse into the eerily engaging world of Resurrection.
The Rebirth of Revenant: Transformation and Reinforcement
A key highlight of Resurrection revolves around the character Revenant. This season witnesses a rebirth of the character, marked by a new appearance and enhanced abilities, all fueled by an increased level of fury in his shattered mind. Throughout the season, all players will have the chance to play as Revenant. Further, completing a set of challenges before the season wraps up would allow them to permanently unlock the character.
Revenant’s upgrade includes:
- New Passive Ability – “Assassin’s Instinct”: Revenant now has the ability to highlight nearby enemies with low health, increasing his predatory prowess. Additional enhancements include a faster crouch walk and improved wall climbing abilities.
- New Tactical Ability – “Shadow Pounce”: This ability allows Revenant to unleash a potent pounce, enabling him to close in on his targets from a distance.
- New Ultimate Ability – “Forged Shadows”: With this, Revenant can create a protective shroud of hardened shadows around him, which helps block damage and regenerate health. His shadows and tactical abilities also get refreshed on knockdowns.
Mixtape’s Thrilling Arrival on Broken Moon
In an exciting turn of events, Mixtape makes its way to Broken Moon, bringing fan-favorite Mixtape modes to new in-game locations this season. Players can now enjoy different gameplay modes such as Gun Run and Team Deathmatch in The Core or participate in Control mode in the Production Yard. This setup offers a fitting stage for Legends to showcase their skills as they grapple with the encroaching darkness.
The Death Dynasty Collection Event: An Encounter with the Essence of Death
The Death Dynasty Collection Event forms a vital part of the Resurrection update. Taking place during the event, players can earn double XP in Battle Royale from August 8-15 and in Mixtape from August 15-22. In an enticing offer, Legends who successfully unlock all 24 cosmetics will be rewarded with Revenant’s new “Death Grip” heirloom automatically.
