PS VR Headset No Longer Required to Play Hacker Hit.
Today, publisher Archiact and developer E McNeill release the “VR Optional” Update for Darknet, making the cyberpunk title available to every owner of a PlayStation®4.
PS4™ players in North America, Europe and Japan will all discover the widely-praised, intensely strategic gameplay of Darknet VR is translated perfectly to non-VR displays, while those with PlayStationVR can switch instantly between VR and non-VR gaming. In either mode, DUALSHOCK®4 controller support remains consistent, and the neon sci-fi visuals are just as eye-popping.
“This is one of those opportunities that just made too much sense to pass on,” said Kevin Chorney, Senior Producer at Archiact. “We’ve brought the iconic visuals and mechanics of Darknet’s VR experience to traditional platforms, while retaining the depth and challenge of gameplay that has made the game such a definitive VR title.”
Darknet is a strategy/puzzle game that puts players in the role of an elite hacker contracted to retrieve data from the world’s most secure networks. Dive into the Net, install viruses, inject code, and hack your way through cybersecurity in an experience inspired by the classic cyberpunk vision of the future. Using various tools of digital mayhem, it’s a race against the clock to infiltrate the network before time runs out…or your signal is traced.
