Carbon Studio is proud to announce that their action-adventure VR game The Wizards will get a free locomotion update on September 12th.
On the release day six weeks ago, The Wizards offered only node-based teleportation for moving around. After the update, players will have a chance to explore game’s world freely with free movement and free teleportation. This update addresses requests of the community of players who raised the lack of free movement as a major concern.
The developer’s goal was not only to implement new movement schemes but also to introduce changes in game design and add new content that will support free locomotion and reward exploration. In order to achieve this, Carbon Studio redesigned all levels in the game and added features such as hidden paths, various item pickups, and new encounters with enemies.
“We’ve strongly underestimated how common is the need for free movement among VR community. It turned out that more and more players get their “VR legs,” which makes them find free movement as the most convenient and immersive method of locomotion. Our players asked for free locomotion and they were totally right about it – thanks to this feature The Wizards delivers a strong feeling of exploration and is more fun to play.”

The Wizards is available on Steam Early Access and Oculus Store from July 28th. On Tuesday, game will get a limited time, -15% discount pricing it at $16.99.
