Ubisoft just dropped the bombshell we’ve all been waiting for: Season 1 of XDefiant is live! This free-to-play, high-octane arcade shooter, crafted by Ubisoft San Francisco, pulls factions from some of Ubisoft’s most cherished franchises into one chaotic playground. Whether you’re on PC via Ubisoft Connect, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S, XDefiant is ready for action.
What’s New in Season 1?
New Faction: GS Kommando (Inspired by R6)
GS Kommando storms into the fray with game-changing abilities. Their Shock Wire sets up a high-voltage perimeter, while the Active Defense System (ADS) intercepts enemy explosives. When it gets ultra, the Flash Shield, a LED-studded barrier, offers mobile cover. Their Passive Trait, Hardhat, cuts down the damage from headshots, making them a tough nut to crack.
New Maps:
- Clubhouse: Channeling vibes from Rainbow Six, available now.
- Daytona: Inspired by The Crew 2, rolling out mid-season.
- Rockefeller: Taking cues from The Division, also arriving mid-season.
New Weapons:
The Battle Pass hooks you up with three fresh tools of destruction:
- LVOA-C Assault Rifle
- L115 Sniper Rifle
- Sawed-off Shotgun (secondary)
New Game Modes:
- Capture the Flag (CTF): Live now, this mode is all about snagging the enemy flag and defending yours.
- Bomb Mode: Requiring strategic finesse, this mode will join the rotation later in the season.
Ranked Play:
Ready to flex your skills? Ranked Play offers a 4v4 playlist covering Occupy, Domination, Zone Control, and Escort. Climb through seven ranks from Bronze to Legends, with each rank having 10 levels (except Legends). Exclusive rewards are up for grabs for the top players.
Support Your Favorite Content Creators
Season 1 introduces a killer way to back your favorite streamers and YouTubers. The XDefiant Creator Code Initiative lets players channel a commission to their chosen creator with every in-game purchase. Just click “Support a Creator” in the in-game store, pick your champion, and any XCoin purchases you make will give them a cut for the next 14 days. No extra effort needed from you—just more support for the content you love.
