Set to commence from August 10th to September 6th, the Champions of the Undead competition is a milestone marking 3 million plays of Zero Latency, powered by VIVE. This contest will engage players across the global Zero Latency community.

In the “Undead Arena” game, participants have the objective of taking down zombies to garner high scores. Interested participants can visit any of the 70+ Zero Latency venues globally to play and vie for the championship. The apex player from each region will earn a trip to Las Vegas for the Grand Final. Here, the ultimate zombie combatant will be recognized, bagging a grand prize of $15,000 USD. Those who come close, the runners up, will not leave empty-handed. They will receive a VIVE XR Elite headset, valued at $1,099 USD.

Technological Advancements

Zero Latency has introduced its novel platform in recent times: the HTC VIVE Focus 3. This platform integrates unique remote rendering and the cutting-edge 6E wireless technology. It is designed to fluidly stream 5K VR to a maximum of eight players at once. This represents a performance level 16 times more potent than most traditional headsets. Furthermore, Zero Latency’s platform distinguishes itself by offering an unobstructed experience, devoid of backpack computers or superfluous sensors.

Stakeholder Insights

Scott Vandonkelaar, the CTO of Zero Latency, reflected on the partnership with VIVE. He emphasized the success and innovations stemming from their decade-long collaboration, notably the next-generation platform release. Vandonkelaar also expressed enthusiasm regarding the Champions of the Undead competition and the future endeavors with VIVE.

Thomas Dexmier, HTC VIVE ANZ – Country Manager, highlighted Zero Latency’s continued efforts to redefine immersive experiences. Dexmier commended the synergy between VIVE Focus 3’s flexibility for free-roam VR and Zero Latency’s expertise.
