Limited Run Games and Sunsoft have announced the re-release of Trip World DX, the first in a series of re-releases powered by the Carbon Engine. Developed in collaboration with Sunsoft and the original Trip World director and producer, Yuichi Ueda, Trip World DX is an expertly reproduced version of the highly sought-after platformer, making its worldwide debut. The Carbon Engine allows for exceptional accuracy in retro game emulation and stunning modern presentation, resulting in a fresh experience for fans of the classic title.
Trip World is a renowned Sunsoft original, representing the pinnacle of the company’s 8-bit legacy. The game follows the adventures of Yakopoo, a bunny-like hero, as he explores Trip World, a land inhabited by endearing creatures and mythical beings. The game boasts impressive graphics and music, complemented by precise game mechanics and immersive level design that encourages players to enjoy the journey through Trip World rather than rushing to complete it.
The Trip World DX re-release includes never-before-seen content and features, such as a music player with remastered audio and arrangements, original design documents, cameo appearance designs, and video interviews. The Carbon Engine team and Yuichi Ueda have also developed a brand new colorized version of Trip World, a long-term dream for the director.
The Trip World DX package includes:

- Museum mode with unseen design documents, video interviews, music videos, box scans, and more.
- Music player featuring remastered audio tracks, new arrangements, and a surprise track from another cult Sunsoft classic title.

Limited Run Games will accept pre-orders for physical and Collector’s Editions of Trip World DX from April 28th to June 11th, 2023. These unique physical releases cater to fans of the original Trip World and its legacy, offering options for playing on original Game Boy hardware or the latest consoles.
Retro Editions, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 Editions, and PC Editions are available, with various bundles that include a Yakopoo plush, retro cart keychain, Trip World DX official soundtrack on CD, double-sided poster, and premium collector’s box.
Trip World DX offers a nostalgic yet modern gaming experience, allowing fans to revisit the classic Game Boy title on a variety of platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
