Besides being nominated for two of the most important awards in the independent games and Virtual Reality scenes, over the last two months since the original release, Pixel Ripped 1989 has received high praise from critics, fans, and big names in the industry for its innovation, design and narrative:

“I think Pixel Ripped 1989 is a work by genius…thank you for making such an ingenious use of VR tech to create an amazing, never experienced, imaginative experience.” Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios at Sony Interactive Entertainment.

“I love how different it is and the nostalgia aspects and it looks wonderful, I am in love with the presentation. It is a really cool game. This is one of the most original VR games I have played in a while.” Ian Higton, Eurogamer

“Sound design and soundtrack really set apart Pixel Ripped 1989, it really is transportive in a way that just has this whole vibe around it. It has just a different and interesting game mechanic to be within a VR experience and playing completely different classic games, between universes and contexts, etc.” Kent Bye, VoicesOfVR

“A lot of games are content with simply providing a retro feel and relying on nostalgia, but you and the team found a way to merge new mechanics and unique ideas into the experience without diminishing that classic nostalgic feel. Bravo! Looking forward to what comes next.” Bradley Ramsey, PS4Playstation4.com
