Amazon Games has set the stage for New World’s first expansion, slated for an October 3rd launch. Named New World: Rise of the Angry Earth, the expansion adds a plethora of content including mounts, a higher level cap, new gear tiers, and additional weapons. Priced at $29.99, the expansion aims to extend the lore and in-game mechanics. Gamers new to the franchise can also opt for the New World: Elysian Edition bundle, packaging the base game and the expansion for $69.99.
Aeternum’s Shattered Southeast—First Light No More
The expansion shifts focus to the southeastern tip of Aeternum, once known as First Light. The region has succumbed to the elemental wrath of Artemis and the Angry Earth. Uncertainty clouds the fate of the communities and the people that once resided there. A dangerous barrier now segregates the area, revealing new foes known as Beast Lords. On the flip side, these events have unlocked the secrets to taming and mounting animals in the game.
New Mounts & Weaponry Unveiled
Gamers will now have the convenience of using mounts for quicker traversal across the expansive landscapes of Aeternum. From horses to dire wolves and lions, players can customize each mount’s appearance, including dyeable equipment. Beyond mobility, New World: Rise of the Angry Earth debuts a new weapon known as the Flail. This versatile one-handed weapon allows for an offhand shield, providing a balanced mix of melee and arcane magic capabilities.
Sync with Season 3 for More Content
Coinciding with the expansion’s release, Season 3 of New World will also go live. This season brings in a new set of objectives and rewards, categorized under a fresh Season Journey, Activity Card, and Challenges.
