Fighting Heedless of Its Own Destruction, the Error-Prone Guardian Machine “Bedman?” Awakens to Action!
During ARC WORLD TOUR 2022 Finals, Arc System Works America, Inc. revealed the sleeping sentinel “Bedman?” as the next DLC playable character coming to Season Pass 2 for the acclaimed 2.5D fighting game, Guilty Gear -Strive-. “Bedman?” will release on April 6th, 2023, as purchasable DLC ($6.99) and for players who purchase Season Pass 2 ($24.99) on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Windows platforms.
Bedman was a technical trickster first playable in Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- who ultimately lost his life. Using his machine bed, Bedman’s strategy was to frustrate and confuse opponents, stay evasive to find openings, and enforce deadly blows using an arsenal of automated techniques. Following his death, Bedman’s bed continues to act independently during Guilty Gear -Strive- through the program, he entered in his last moments. The now reawakened Delilah descends into the real world through the Absolute World created by Bedman in his dying moments and recovers her brother’s bed. Now Delilah’s protector, the bed (“Bedman?”) is always at her side. “Bedman?’ (with Delilah) will arrive as the 8th playable DLC character and 23rd playable character overall in Guilty Gear -Strive-. Fans can view the new “Bedman?” character trailer here. Season 2’s final unannounced DLC playable character will be revealed later this year.
In addition, the latest DLC release will see a brand-new in-game battle stage – “Fairy’s Forest Factory” – become playable on April 6 for individual purchases ($1.99) and for players who purchase Season Pass 2 ($24.99). This latest battle stage takes place in a fantastic forest canopy, populated with industrious fairies with a penchant for medicine. Eye-catching colorful fungi harbor nutritious bounties and the resident denizens make a living exporting these commodities to the outside world.
Guilty Gear -Strive- is now available across Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, Steam, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. This includes rollback netcode for smooth online matches and cross-platform play, allowing players across all available platforms (including Xbox, PlayStation, and PC) to connect through online multiplayer without platform restrictions. Cross-platform features include comprehensive tutorials for new players, a training mode for practice in a wide array of settings, mission mode, survival mode, versus Com or versus 2P options, combo maker, digital figure creation, character gallery with background music, and access to all 23 playable characters (including DLC characters as of the “Bedman?” release).
The digital version of Guilty Gear -Strive- Standard Edition is available at $39.99. Fans can also take advantage of digital bundle editions, including the Guilty Gear -Strive- + Season Pass 1 bundle ($59.99) and the all-inclusive Guilty Gear -Strive- Ultimate Edition 2022 ($79.99), which consists of the base game, Season Pass 1, Season Pass 2, and an Ultimate Edition Contents Kit with digital sound + artworks and exclusive color. Guilty Gear -Strive- Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2 are also available individually each at $24.99.
