1C Game Studios has officially announced the international release date for its free-to-play team-based shooter, Caliber. The game will be available on Steam starting April 12th, 2023.
The development Roadmap for 2023 has also been revealed, with major game updates planned for Q2 and Q3. These updates include a new operator collection, new maps and story missions, 3D scopes, new war theaters, and new game modes. One of the main additions will be the introduction of the Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais (BOPE) squad – a special police unit of the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro State (PMERJ) in Brazil.
Caliber is now available for Steam wishlists, and the game will support English, Spanish, and Portuguese languages.
Caliber is an online multiplayer third-person shooter that emphasizes tactical cooperation among players, who can choose from one of four roles, each represented by dozens of operators. The game offers both PVP and PVE modes, and the key to victory lies in assessing the situation accurately and coordinating teamwork among all players.
The game features 68 playable operators from 17 real-world special forces units across 12 countries, including the USA, UK, Israel, Germany, and France. Each operator has a unique set of skill sets, weapons, and special abilities:
- Assault – The fastest unit, capable of flanking the enemy to get behind their lines.
- Marksman – Provides cover and eliminates targets at long range.
- Medic – Heals and revives allies and is effective in combat at close and medium range.
- Support – Heavily armed operator with lots of HP and armor. The Support’s main goal is to divert the enemy’s attention and disrupt their attacks.
Caliber first launched as an open beta in late 2019 and has been continuously evolving based on player feedback since then.
