Carbon Studio, renowned for its VR titles, is bringing its latest project, Crimen – Mercenary Tales, to Meta Quest 2 and Pico on May 25th. This comic book-styled adventure features eight thrilling mercenary stories set in 17th century Europe. Each character-driven tale takes players through a different setting, from a haunted Aztec temple to a derelict pirate ship, with plenty of action-packed arcade-style combat and puzzles to solve.
The game’s eye-catching cel-shaded graphics and cheeky narration add to its charm, along with abundant humor and nods to popular culture. Players can take on the role of a vampire hunter, fend off undead Spanish conquistadors, invade a Saxon fortress, and more, all while using a wide variety of historically accurate weapons.
Crimen – Mercenary Tales features a Slavic folk music score composed by the talented Arkadiusz Reikowski. The game is described as an “action-packed, gory arcade slasher” that distinguishes itself from conventional physics-driven VR games.
