Overview of Dark Sky

Set to launch in the third quarter of 2024, Dark Sky emerges as a turn-based sci-fi RPG that promises a story-rich experience on the verge of planetary collapse. Formerly known as Xenotheria, this game introduces players to a narrative-driven adventure filled with dynamic characters, strategic combat, and in-depth deckbuilding. Developed by Ganymede Games, with a team comprising former Riot and Wargaming developers, and published by Midwest Games, Dark Sky is gearing up for a global release on PC through platforms such as Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.

Gameplay and Story

Dark Sky is set on Wolf Prime, a mining planet now facing devastation from a mysterious force that has grounded all spacecraft. Players will navigate this apocalyptic landscape as Squig and Norton, two modest shipyard workers who rally a team of unlikely heroes to unravel the truth. The game introduces strategic, party-centric card battles where players can tailor decks for each of the six playable characters, harnessing unique abilities to overcome adversaries.

Development and Release Details

This title marks Ganymede Games’ debut in the gaming scene, laying the foundation for a larger narrative universe. A demo will be available during the Steam Deckbuilders Fest from March 25 to April 1, 2024, allowing players a sneak peek into the game’s mechanics and story. Additionally, a new trailer has been released, offering insights into the game’s hand-painted environments and the factions inhabiting Wolf Prime, such as the Outworld Collective Fleet, the Mining Guild, and the Runshaka death cult.
