Dying Light 2 Stay Human, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular survival horror game, is kicking off the summer season with a major update titled “Good Night, Good Luck.” This update brings significant changes to the gameplay, including improvements to the parkour systems and a complete overhaul of the night experience. With the launch of this update, Techland is introducing the Summer of Horrors, a series of events, crossovers, and updates that will extend throughout the entire season.

A Darker Nighttime Experience

The day and night cycle has always played a crucial role in the Dying Light franchise, and the Good Night, Good Luck update aims to enhance the intensity and horror of the nighttime gameplay. The visibility during the night has been significantly reduced, creating a more immersive and spine-chilling atmosphere. Players will rely heavily on the upgraded flashlight, which casts dynamic shadows, to navigate through the darkness. The sound design has also been revamped, with atmospheric effects taking precedence over music. Additionally, infected enemies, including the formidable Volatiles, will appear in more locations, posing an increased threat and making every corner of the city dangerous after sundown.

Masterful Parkour and Enhanced Control

In Dying Light 2 Stay Human, agility and parkour skills are essential for survival. The Good Night, Good Luck update introduces further improvements to the parkour system, making it an even more exhilarating and immersive experience. The update includes new animations, increased control while in the air, and the ability to maintain momentum. To cater to experienced players seeking an additional challenge, Techland has introduced a new parkour style that allows players to exercise more control over their movement. Players can choose between a grounded and intense journey or opt for assisted gameplay for a more accessible experience, providing options for different playstyles.

Community Maps and Endless Adventures

Techland is collaborating with mod.io to bring community-made maps directly into Dying Light 2 Stay Human, without the need for external tools or applications. This exciting feature allows players on PC to access a wealth of new levels and content created by the dedicated Dying Light community. It showcases the immense creativity and talent of the fanbase and promises endless adventures for players to explore. While the Community Maps feature is currently available on PC, Techland plans to bring it to consoles and the Steam Deck later this year, ensuring that all players can enjoy the community’s creations.

Visual Enhancements and Additional Features

Alongside the gameplay improvements, the Good Night, Good Luck update introduces several other notable additions. PC players can take advantage of boosted graphics with the Ultra Mode graphics settings, providing a stunning visual experience for those with high-end systems. A new color grading option called “Harran Sunset” adds a fresh and captivating visual aesthetic to the game. Furthermore, players can now throw weapons and retrieve them later, expanding their tactical options during combat. The update also includes modifications to the user interface and offers more transmog options, allowing players to customize their character’s appearance to their liking.

Summer of Horrors and Bloody Nights Event

To celebrate the launch of the Good Night, Good Luck update and kickstart the Summer of Horrors, Techland has organized a special event called Bloody Nights. Starting today, June 29th, players can participate in this event until Thursday, July 13th. During the event, players can test their skills against the formidable Volatiles and earn exclusive in-game rewards, including Huntress’ Regular & Elite Mission Tickets, a Crossbow and Bolts Blueprint, and The Prick’s Outfit. Additionally, Dying Light 2 Stay Human will be available at a 50% discount during the Bloody Nights event, allowing new players to join the action at a discounted price.

The Walking Dead Collaboration and Future Updates

As the Summer of Horrors unfolds, fans of the living dead can look forward to an exciting collaboration between Dying Light 2 Stay Human and The Walking Dead. This collaboration was first teased during the Summer Game Fest, generating anticipation and speculation among players. Details about the collaboration have yet to be revealed, but fans are eagerly awaiting further updates and announcements.
