Electronic Arts Inc. has introduced FC FUTURES, a plan to invest $10 million globally in grassroots football projects over the next three years. This initiative aligns with EA SPORTS’s new brand identity, logo, and vision for the interactive future of football: EA SPORTS FC.
David Jackson, VP of Brand Marketing at EA SPORTS, said that EA SPORTS FC aims to provide young people with the necessary access and tools to pursue their dreams in football. The company plans to collaborate with football organizations and icons worldwide to inspire the next generation of football enthusiasts.
The first FC FUTURES activation took place at the unveiling of the ‘Rocky and Wrighty Arena’ at Turnham Academy in South London. In partnership with the Football Foundation, EA SPORTS provided additional football access for local youth, hoping to inspire future players.
FC FUTURES will develop a publicly available library of training practices in five languages for young players and community coaches to use in their training plans. The initiative will also support the creation and refurbishment of pitches through foundations, federations, and leagues, as well as investing in grassroots training accessories such as balls, bibs, cones, and other essential equipment.
EA SPORTS has entered a multi-year partnership with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to support community-level football through consultancy from UEFA Grassroots Football Coaches and investment in UEFA Grassroots football initiatives.
FC FUTURES ambassadors Ian Wright and Chelsea Women’s Manager Emma Hayes will work with EA SPORTS to provide further support for grassroots football. Both expressed their excitement about the initiative, which they believe will offer opportunities for underrepresented talent and change lives by providing resources and access to the sport.
