New in the Update: Germany Reworked

Euro Truck Simulator 2’s 1.48 update introduces a revamped experience for the Germany region. Key cities such as Hamburg, Travemunde, Kiel, and Rostock have undergone substantial enhancements. From their road networks to landmarks and industries, everything has been looked at closely for a more realistic feel.

Moreover, players can now access the Feldbinder factory and Winsen, offering two new depots. While one is intended for cargo drop-offs, the other caters to picking up fresh trailers.

Enhancements in the Gallery Feature

Building upon the Gallery feature introduced in the 1.46 update, a new ‘Cities’ tab has been added. This feature allows players to track cities they’ve visited and even replay their intro cutscenes.

Vehicle Transport Trailers Get a Makeover

The in-game team has reworked trailers used for transporting vehicles, from cars to trucks. These redesigned trailers can be sought out in the Freight Market.

Map Exploration Just Got Easier

Aiming for that 100% map exploration? A new user interface (UI) window has been added for players to monitor their exploration by country, making it easier to spot those unexplored routes.

Improved UI for Options and Controls

The update has made settings in Euro Truck Simulator 2 more user-friendly:

  1. The options page now shows a numeric value beside the sliders.
  2. The input wizard for control selection has been given a modern and simpler design, featuring new icons and descriptive text for each option.

Enhanced Driving Controls

For a more controlled driving experience, the gameplay options have been bolstered with the inclusion of Electronic Stability Controls. These include the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control (either ASR or TRC). The former ensures brakes are effectively applied without locking, while the latter helps in preventing oversteer, understeer, and wheel slips.

Changes Beneficial for Mod Creators

Mod creators can now craft a single MOD applicable to multiple DLCs. The update streamlines the MOD structure, making it more flexible. With changes to the SCS Workshop Uploader, the game also ensures compatibility and seamless integration.
