According to the developer, the game’s premise is to build and intersect blocks on a grid, in order to shorten the path to a given objective. Players will have to find the optimal combinations between the amount of tiles each block can shorten and the objective’s direction, in order to move to the next level. Designed for adepts of puzzles or brainteasers, all the focus in ZHED is on allowing players to concentrate on solving the level without any further distractions.
The game will be free for the time being, features original soundtrack, minimalistic design and will ship with a starting batch of 100 levels to play, with more level packs of various difficulties slated to be released over time.
“I love puzzle games and I also love to mess with people’s heads, so, ZHED is basically the combination of those two passions of mine! It is very rewarding to see people playing the puzzles and being challenged by the game.” Says João Araújo, the game’s creator.

The premise of developing an all-original gameplay and puzzle mechanics was a key-element during the game’s development, “When João showed me the prototype, I knew we had to develop this game, it is a true original and the puzzles are just diabolic, especially after level 25!” Says Rui Guedes, ZHED’s producer.

According to developer, there are plans of extending the game to other platforms and adding new challenges in the near future.
