In Last Train Home, players assume the role of a commander of the Czechoslovak Legion, entrapped in the maelstrom of the Russian civil war following the First World War. The central mission: guiding an armored train carrying the legionnaires through the harsh Siberian wilderness towards their home.

To deliver an authentic experience, the game’s creators have joined hands with the official Czechoslovak Legionary Community, whose members include the ancestors of actual legionnaires. The community operates the “Legiovlak”, a meticulously recreated legionary train from 1918-1920, complete with features such as a locomotive, infantry car, workshop, kitchen, ambulance, and artillery car.
The developers leveraged this resource during the game’s creation, ensuring a detailed and realistic representation of the era when Czechoslovak war operations unfolded on the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia.
