QuakeCon 2023 Welcomes Back BYOC in Texas this August

QuakeCon 2023 is set to return to its roots with an upgraded in-person BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) event at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. Running from Thursday, August 10th through Sunday, August 13th, the event marks the return of the popular LAN party after three years of digital-only events.

Marty Stratton, Studio Head of id Software, expressed excitement for the opportunity to reunite with the QuakeCon community and celebrate games in person. The 2023 edition of QuakeCon will focus primarily on the BYOC experience, with no exhibit hall or general admission tickets available.

For four days, attendees can participate in round-the-clock gaming, various activities, and meetups for both old and new friends. A full slate of programming will also be streamed live on Twitch for those unable to attend in person.

QuakeCon 2023 will be a ticketed-only event, limited to pre-registered BYOC guests. Fan-favorite activities, such as Tabletop Village, BYOC community events, and the QuakeCon Finals Party, will return for ticketed attendees. The annual esports finale of the Quake World Championships, featuring Quake Champions, will also take place at the event, along with several vendors and experiences to support the BYOC.

Registration for the event opens soon, with the new Elite BYOC Ticket drawing beginning on Tuesday, April 11th. Full BYOC Premium and Standard registration will open on Friday, April 21st, with Quake Pro League Spectator registration opening on Wednesday, May 10th. More information on the event’s program, features, activities, and layout will be released in the near future.
