Raising Hell – Diablo Immortal Celebrates One Year with a Monster-Packed Update

Introducing Destruction’s Wake, our latest major update for Diablo Immortal. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support over the past year, which has led us to this significant milestone – our anniversary celebration. Your valuable feedback and dedication to protecting Sanctuary from the forces of the Burning Hells have made this incredible update possible.

In honor of the co-creators of Sanctuary, Lilith and Inarius, we are thrilled to unveil the new Ancients’ Cradle Zone, along with three exciting limited-time events and a new Skill for each Class. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or new to the game, there’s something for everyone in this update.

To ensure a smooth transition, players with a Paragon Level lower than their Server’s Paragon Level will receive a generous experience bonus of up to 1,500%. This will help you catch up and fully enjoy the features introduced in this major update. Additionally, we have raised the Server Paragon Level for all Servers to 800.

Before we embark on the next chapter of Diablo Immortal’s story, we are delighted to announce the launch of four new servers: Peace Warders (English server in Europe), Marius (German server in Europe), and Kesor (Polish server in Europe). Furthermore, in our upcoming content update in approximately two weeks, we will be initiating another round of Server Merges for Japanese servers.

Please note that server maintenance will be taking place on June 14th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. PDT for Oceania, China, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe Servers. For servers in the Americas, maintenance will occur on June 15th, from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. PDT. Once the maintenance is complete, all the items mentioned below will be live. Specific dates for subsequent content releases are provided below for your convenience.

NEW ZONE AND QUESTLINE: ANCIENTS’ CRADLE

Embark on a new adventure in the mysterious Ancients’ Cradle, an isolated island located in the Forgotten Sea. This unexplored land is home to the ancient Lilin and Inari civilizations, whose lineage dates back to the very creation of Sanctuary. As you progress in your quest to dismantle the Cult of Terror and recover the Pathstone, be prepared to face their relentless pursuit of purifying the Worldstone, ultimately placing Diablo himself in control of its immense power.

To set foot in the captivating Ancients’ Cradle Zone and delve into its main questline, you must first achieve Hell Difficulty VI and complete the Fare You Well prologue quest. Seek out Zathan near Deckard Cain’s workshop to initiate the prologue quest. The island itself is teeming with sacred ruins belonging to the Lilin and Inari, presenting numerous opportunities to resolve conflicts, cleanse corruption, and restore the island’s former splendor through eight engaging side quests.

Before venturing into Ancients’ Cradle, remember to sharpen your skills in combating demons. This Zone is infested with the Afflicted, unfortunate locals transformed into a new breed of evil by a curse, as well as the voracious Amalgamations, deadly flora and fauna that view you as nothing more than prey. Additionally, the removal of the Pathstone has sent the Cradleguard into a perpetual frenzy, further complicating your journey. Prepare yourself to confront these fresh perils emerging from the depths of the Burning Hells.

Tensions are mounting, brave adventurer. Will you rise to the challenge and overcome them?

INFERNO DIFFICULTY AND HEARTHROT DEMONS

Introducing Inferno Difficulty and the menacing Hearthrot Demons, a formidable challenge that has emerged from the depths of the Burning Hells. To unlock Inferno Difficulty I, you must conquer Phangwrth, Warmth-Feaster on Hell Difficulty VIII and attain at least Paragon Level 800. For Inferno Difficulties II and III, you must confront the new breed of evil known as the Hearthrot Demons. Venturing into Inferno Difficulty grants you access to the Inferno Difficulty Leaderboards, powerful Legendary Items to augment your build, and the thrilling new Stances combat mechanic.

Unleash Your Wrath upon the Hearthrot Demons, a Pestilent Menace to Sanctuary

Vhansoon, Desolation’s Scourge

Vhansoon’s arrival upon Sanctuary withered foliage and ruptured the earth surrounding Atrium Ignic. Merely gazing upon Desolation’s Scourge causes teeth to shatter and nails to splinter. However, the creature’s most deadly weapon is an immense cannon forged in the depths of Hell, claiming countless lives of those who stand against it.

Defeating any of the Hearthrot Demons rewards you with Demonic Remains, valuable items that correspond to specific slots in the Helliquary.

Strazos, Steadfast Decay

To Strazos, all life is a mere steppingstone, allowing him to assume his rightful position as the harbinger of decay. The Steadfast Decay delights in overseeing the slow rot of Sanctuary, nourishing himself on the souls trapped within his Entropic Prison. As he drains their life force, he harnesses their essence to conquer the living.

Vanquishing Strazos on Inferno Difficulty I, either alone or with a group, unlocks Inferno Difficulty II.

Gebdu, Mountain Breaker

Gebdu, a solitary creature, seeks to cleanse the land of life, leaving behind a barren and desolate world. The Mountain Breaker relies on its immense strength and size to demolish towns and collapse caverns, reducing all creatures to pulp upon which its offspring feed. Having once glimpsed a vision of Sanctuary, Gebdu now yearns to witness its complete downfall.

Khuluul the Crooked Grin

While Khuluul takes pleasure in witnessing cities burn like his demonic brethren, he finds greater satisfaction in deceiving a city’s inhabitants into igniting their own destruction. No destruction is sweeter to him than the destruction of trust. Those unfortunate enough to stumble into his Crooked Castelet become his puppets, drenched in the blood of friends and family. Denied the mercy of death, they remain under his control until their new master is content, and he is never content.

Defeating Khuluul the Crooked Grin on Inferno Difficulty II unlocks Inferno Difficulty III.

Yamnaal of the Deluge

Yamnaal’s enjoyment of slaying mortals pales in comparison to his delight in the erosion of everything around him. As he appears, an unending deluge of corrosive rain accompanies him, even blinding the sightless tlatch who share his prey, their eyes worn away in the dampness of the sunken grotto.

Saarodan, Sky-Sunderer

Once a bastion securing the mountain pass between Aranoch and Khanduras during Rakkis’s time, the Fulminous Parapet now harbors a demon that has shattered the skies into subservience. Saarodan revels in thunderous glee as his victims flee in panic, knowing full well that no one can outrun lightning or escape the grasp of the heavens.

Unleash Chaos in the Helliquary Gauntlet with the Hearthrot Demons

The abhorrent Hearthrot demons have now made their way into the Helliquary Gauntlet. Conquer the Inferno Helliquary Gauntlet across various difficulty levels to earn coveted Cosmetics from the Scions of the Storm Argent set. Prepare yourself for the ultimate challenge and seek out Rayek to embark on this extraordinary endeavor.

NEW COMBAT MECHANIC: STANCES

Unveiling a rediscovered martial technique from ancient times in Sanctuary, we introduce Stances to enhance your prowess in combating the horrors that plague your nightmares. To utilize Stances, delve into the depths of Inferno Difficulty. Once immersed in this challenge, you will unlock an additional set of weapon slots. Equip specific items in these slots to automatically activate the corresponding Stance. Enhance your character’s power by socketing gems into these additional slots.

Now that you possess the appropriate gear, let’s delve into the art of utilizing Stances. Each Class possesses both an Offensive and Defensive Stance, each offering unique passive bonuses that amplify your Class’s strengths. In combat, you can seamlessly switch between Stances every 30 seconds. When shifting Stances, the passive bonus is tripled in strength for the initial 3 seconds, allowing you to swiftly reap the rewards of your Offensive or Defensive stance.

Below, you’ll find the Offensive and Defensive Stances, along with their respective passive bonuses for each Class.

It’s important to note a few additional details regarding Stances:

  • With all four weapons equipped, Legendary Gems, Legendary Item Affixes, and Attributes remain active.
  • Offensive bonuses from equipped weapons are reduced to 60% power while in the Defensive Stance.
  • While Stances are active, you can only equip one Legendary Item that affects each Skill.

Stances introduce an exciting layer of variety to the dynamic combat of Diablo Immortal. We’re thrilled to expand the ways in which players can respond to the relentless challenges of Hell, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing our community push their builds to new heights.

3 NEW LEGENDARY GEMS

Introducing three new Legendary Gems that bring fresh possibilities to your character’s build. Unleash their power and explore exciting synergies without overwhelming your adversaries. Below are the respective Rank-10 values for each gem:

Exigent Echo (One-Star Gem): Upon receiving a Critical Hit, enjoy a 30% increase in block chance for 6 seconds. This effect occurs once every 20 seconds, ensuring balance. Furthermore, when blocking during this period, damage taken is reduced by 12%.

These meteorites inflict 500% base damage + 2026 in total. This effect can only occur once every 20 seconds. Moreover, the scorched ground left behind by the meteorites burns enemies, dealing 40% base damage per second for 2 seconds.

NEW SET: SEEDS OF SOWN GOLD

Introducing the Seeds of Sown Gold item set, obtainable from dungeons in Inferno Difficulty I and above. This set focuses on Channeled Skills and offers rewards to players who engage in continuous channeling to enhance their damage output.

Seeds of Sown Gold (2-Piece Bonus): Consistently channeling a skill against the same enemy gradually amplifies the damage of that skill, reaching a maximum increase of 30%.

Seeds of Sown Gold (4-Piece Bonus): Upon ceasing the channeling of a skill, enemies struck by it suffer an additional burst of damage equal to 30% of the damage inflicted by that channeled skill.

Seeds of Sown Gold (6-Piece Bonus): Commencing the channeling of a skill bestows Artisan’s Endurance for 8 seconds. While channeling under the protection of Artisan’s Endurance, you become immune to knockback effects, and incoming damage is reduced by 40%. This effect can only activate once every 40 seconds.

Obtain Seeds of Sown Gold items from the following dungeons:

  • Artisan’s Care (Neck): Silent Monastery
  • Gleaming Gullers (Boots): Cavern of Echoes
  • Harvest of Dust (Gloves): Destruction’s End

FEATURE UPDATES

Combat Rating Adjustment: Combat Rating and Primary Attribute are now separate statistics. The Combat Rating for items will be directly displayed on them, independent of the item’s attribute.

Items that drop will now offer greater diversity in Primary Attributes and an increased chance of having a higher Combat Rating. This change aims to help players quickly improve their Combat Rating and introduce more variety in their item choices.

Battleground and Challenge Rift Schedule Change: To address inconsistencies in server resets and provide a more consistent and forgiving experience, we are updating the reset schedule for Battleground and Challenge Rifts in Diablo Immortal.

Starting from June 16th, all current Battleground seasons will end, and rewards will be distributed accordingly. Battleground and Challenge Rifts will now reset on a 10-week cycle, independent of the Cycle of Strife. The rewards have also been adjusted to align with this new schedule. Additionally, Battleground participation will no longer be a requirement for Badges of Honor since it is no longer tied to the reign reset.

Battleground rewards will now include weekly rewards such as Purification Shards, Charms, and Scrap, in addition to the end-of-season rewards consisting of Reforge Stones and Normal Gems. Challenge Rifts will continue to provide weekly rewards, while the monthly rewards will be distributed at the end of the season. The 2, 3, and 4 player Leaderboards for Challenge Rifts have been removed to consolidate the seasonal gameplay into one event on a fixed schedule. This change allows players more time to complete activities and ensures more consistent rewards for all players, regardless of the Cycle of Strife cadence on their server.

Hidden Lair Rewards: Hidden Lairs have undergone some changes to make it easier for players to earn associated rewards and assist those who are catching up. Each objective now guarantees Normal Gems as rewards, up to a weekly maximum of 21 Hidden Lairs or 42 floors. The entrance menu will indicate whether players have reached the weekly caps for each gem type, replacing the previous daily caps.

Accursed Towers: To provide smaller Clans with increased opportunities to claim towers and ensure a smoother start to the season on servers with higher populations, adjustments have been made to Accursed Towers. The maximum number of towers available each season has been increased from 150 to 200, and the number of regions has increased from 3 to 4. Two regions will unlock during the first week of each season.

Ancestral Tableau: In support of the Combat Rating adjustments on gear, the Ancestral Tableau will now have a separate stat for Combat Rating. The maximum bonus values for each stat will be determined by the highest value among the items placed in the Tableau. For example, if Player A has a triple stat item with 200 Intellect, Willpower, and Fortitude, plus 500 Combat Rating, and Player B has a double stat weapon with 300 Vitality and Willpower, plus 550 Combat Rating, the Max Bonus for the Ancestral Tableau would include 200 Intellect and Fortitude, and 300 Vitality, Willpower, and 550 Combat Rating. The drop rate of Ancestral Weapons has also been increased.

Deeds of Valor Badges: To ensure that Deeds of Valor badges in Diablo Immortal reward the leadership and organization required to run a successful clan, adjustments have been made. The Akeba’s Chosen Shadows Clan leader badge now requires being the leader of a top 10 Clan by the end of the Immortal reign. Battleground will no longer count towards the Deeds of Valor badge, as it no longer resets with the Cycle of Strife. These changes aim to prevent players from exploiting the system to obtain the best badge possible and make the Indomitable Deeds of Valor badge more attainable.

Shadows Daily Quest Change: The Shadows Daily Challenge that previously required players to “win a Battleground match” has been updated to “play a Battleground match.” This modification allows for quicker completion of the daily quest.

Immortal Eternal Crown Bonuses: With the start of each new Immortal reign, the Immortal’s Eternal Crown bonuses will now begin at a 16% Damage Increase and 16% Defense Increase. The maximum benefit will persist as a 32% Damage Increase and 32% Defense Increase.

Paragon Specialization in Battleground: During an active Battleground, Paragon Specializations can no longer be swapped. However, players can still make changes prior to the start of the battle. This adjustment aims to ensure that Paragon choices have a meaningful impact on gameplay, preventing players from abusing the ability to swap specializations and creating a more balanced PvP environment.

Developer’s Note: Just like a regular Skill, it was never intended for players to swap out of a Paragon Specializations while its prominent abilities were on cooldown. We believe this strategy only further increases PvP lethality without any real downsides to players who choose to abuse the ability to swap specializations. We want Paragon choices to matter and bypassing the cooldowns circumvented these design goals.

Codex Objectives for Inferno Difficulties: New Codex Objectives have been introduced for Inferno Difficulties I, II, and III. These objectives unlock at Paragon Level 800, 900, and 1,000 respectively, providing additional challenges for seasoned adventurers.

Prodigy’s Path Refresh: To complement the increased Paragon Level cap, Prodigy’s Path has been refreshed. Prodigy’s Path IV will now unlock for players at Level 700. As a result, Prodigy’s Path I will no longer be available in the menu once Prodigy’s Path IV is unlocked. However, any unclaimed rewards from Prodigy’s Path I will be sent directly to the player’s Inbox. Players can continue to claim Prodigy’s Path IV rewards even after reaching Paragon Level 800, based on the Expected Paragon Level, if they choose to halt leveling at Paragon Level 799.

Hero’s Journey: Following the maintenance windows for this major content update, the progress for Hero’s Journey Chapters 1 through 6 will be temporarily paused, and a new Hero’s Journey will commence. The new Hero’s Journey will initially feature Chapters 1 through 4, with Chapters 5 and 6 set to arrive at a later stage. Similar to previous iterations, this Hero’s Journey will be available for approximately six months. Adventurers can look forward to earning a variety of rewards while completing their Chapters, culminating in the acquisition of the Resplendent Journey Frame upon completion of Chapter 4—a token of triumph.

Activity Scheduler: Scheduled activities created by Warband or Clan members will now be denoted by a red dot, enhancing their visibility for all players.
