Saint Louis Science Center Integrates HyperX Peripherals Into Esports Program

Esports’ popularity continues to be recognized outside of the gaming world. Encouraging this exponential growth, HyperX is at the forefront of connecting gamers across all industries through strategic esports sponsorships.

Today, HyperX announced that it will be a founding sponsor of the Saint Louis Science Center’s esports program. Inspiring the next generation of STEAM learners who share a love of gaming, this program provides a pathway for competitive gaming and careers in esports.

The Science Center’s esports program encourages and supports all gamers through equitable access to esports while exposing them to the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) subjects utilized in gaming. Additionally, the program provides a pathway for competitive gaming and careers in esports.

Aspects of HyperX’s support include:

  • Providing gaming peripherals to create new HyperX gameplay and shoutcasting experiences for players and guests
  • Being an educational leader- with school groups and guests, including gaming career-path insights and wellness tutorials
  • Presenting technology demonstrations related to gaming equipment and what makes it good for gaming

The Science Center launched its esports program in fall 2020, recognizing the popularity of esports and the benefits they can provide, including improving critical thinking skills, problem-solving, and motor skills The organization has since hosted events including competitions, camps, and free open play sessions. The esports industry utilizes many 21st-century business skills, offering a unique ability to connect multiple disciplines across STEAM career fields including computer science, game design, engineering, and healthcare.
